Hi all, I had a client ask me this week if it would be recommended to get a massage every week after his hikes? He hikes for 3 hours every Wednesday and he wants to know if he should get a massage on the Wednesday evening every week or if it should be a little later. Don't need an answer right away if it will be discussed in class, I just wanted to write down the question before I forgot it.

A weekly massage can be really beneficial in this case. After a 3-hour hike, the body is dealing with muscle fatigue, tightness and sometimes delayed onset soreness, so having a massage on the same evening can help with recovery, circulation and mobility.

Some people prefer to wait 24 hours, but if he feels good after hiking and isn’t dealing with acute inflammation, same-day treatment is perfectly fine and often very helpful. It really depends on how his body responds, but weekly post-hike sessions are definitely recommended.
