Hey guys it is me again :) I know , I know boring but tought to share with you how I did the consultation form , and the report after . I am still waiting for my laptop to arrive as had to buy one specifically for this course ;)
So number 1,2,3 and 4 are meaning the sections of questions on the form I would need to type it in like section one is the first lot of questions then 2,3,4 so on
Will attach a picture of the consultation form but covered the first name just in case even tough there is no full name on it so hope it is helpful surely lots to improve on but that was my first try to do all this.
So here is the report :
log no: 1
sessions date: 07/07/2025
sessions duration 1hr including 10min consultation +50 mins massage
client age :33
massage given
1- I have prpared the room prior the session , I also lit an aroma therapy candle ti create a light calming scent in the room and I have offered tea to my client prior the consultation to ease into the atmosphere
I was feeling a bit awkward during the consuktation asking all the question and so was my client but I remained calm towards the outside world and eased my client as well with calmness , and while having the conversations some light jokes giving examples of the question to what sort of information I am looking for
I could improve my confidence to really trust myself from the first minute my client arrives and not feel awkward about the consultation questions and think of it as a confidential , yet a pleasant 'normal' chat at the same time .
I have asked my client if she is ready and explained her what is going to happen and I left the room while she undressed her upper body for the session and laid down with the towel provided covering herself after few minutes I have knocked and entered the room as she gave permission to me.
2- I felt a bit excited and a little stressed at the same time so I only realized once I have started the massage and applied the oil that I missed one of the most important part the hold even tough I was repeating in myself what I was gonna do but some nerves did kick in.
I was mainly working on the neck , shoulder ( deltoid muscle) and back ( trapesius muscle ) I have still have to learn all the other muscles by name but this massage took place on the first day, after the first weekend.
I started with a nice flow ( eflourage )the space in the room was a bit tight but that is the only space in the house I could set my table up so had to move around carefully so I think the flow was good but could be better if I had more space , nevertheless the client enjoyed it. Then I moved on to palpate the muscle around the spine , neck and shoulders. I found that my client was quiet relaxed and no specific tight spots , which she confirmed after the session I felt it right. After that I went deeper did some kneading ( petrissage) mixing in some flow time to time to maintain relaxation which was quiet good , I just need to practise my leg position which leg is forward and how to use my body weight a bit more effectively .
3-The little details I added the scented candle , offering a cup of tea worked really well to ease my client .
During the consultation it really helped and gave her an example what sort of answers I am looking for , and we had a nice chat some little jokes to ease up for the session at the begginning of the massage my client was asking some questions so had a few minutes chatting while massageing her but not long after that I felt that my client went into deep relaxation stopped asking questions so I remained silent for the rest of our time , then once I finished with a nice hold my client slowly woke up and we had an other little chat and got some feedback again had to give some examples and apart from that she tought it was really good did not know what to say so giving examples really helped and I managed to get a valuable feedback for future progression.
4- All in all I think it was a good first massage session .
What to improve is to try remember the sequence of the massage I planned without forgetting the hold at the beggining.
To use my body weight more effectively so I am able to work with less effort and lighter .
To practise the moving around the table smoother so it feels more floaty without breaks like a dance .
What I did well is to add the little details, and extra care pre session as I think it really helped.
I have prepared the room really well everything was in place and ready for my clients comfort.
I have applied the correct pressure as requested not too strong and neither too light and my client was happy to rebook .
Her feedback summarised up was:
I made her really sleepy, she went into deep relaxation , and did not realize how tired she really was. She has liked the pressure I have applied as requested medium pressure she said occasionally I was a bit too strong on the neck muscles but not overly she still was able to deeply relax. She felt like after the session her back is more stretched and relaxed , hence why she is able to move more freely.
Wow Dominika, well done! your report is really thorough and very insightful. I have done my first massage today as well and I'm here trying to finish my report.
Keep up the good work! xx
