Hi everyone, hope your week is going well. Had a practice massage on a friend today and got some really good típs:
1. When asking where the client does not want to be ‘massaged’, ask what ‘zones’ and ask client to point out specifically. It is helpful to have a print out of body outline (front and back) and write notes on it so that you can recall when doing the massage to jog the memory.
2. When asking the client to take off clothes and how to lie on the massage table, stand on the opposite side of the client and table table so that the table is between you and the client. This helps with distance and personal space. I felt a difference when I stood next to client and stood facing client across the table.
3. When telling the client how to lie on table etc it’s ok to ‘instruct them’ ie. ‘I would like you to....’, this avoids uncertainty and also gives air of control and confidence. I kept saying ‘if you’d like to...’

Hope these help.

Thank you Bhadresh, that helps. I think I will have only friends to start with to see what their real feedback is :). Good luck with your next lot,Julita.

Good to see the conversation flow.
    1. Late on the course, you will have a body diagram on the consultation form for exactly this reason.
    2. Try to step outside the room once the client undress
    3. Yes, instructions are super important. I like you ask them to 'I would like you to'...Still make it confident.
