Journey of Hope is a suicide prevention project in West London. We build resilience, in people and in peer networks, who have reached a place of despair and may have attempted to take their own life. A life saved from a suicide attempt is still a life in danger – the person’s circumstances have not changed, and many people return to a life without adequate support networks.
We are working with:
The Psychiatry Liaison Service at St Mary’s, Paddington. Here we provide non-medical support to people who have attempted to take their own life through suicide, using evidence based approaches founded on the Five Ways to Wellbeing. This can be as simple as going for a walk, meeting for a coffee, or inviting people to join us at a well- being retreat.
People who have been affected by the tragedy of the Grenfell Tower fire. We do this by inviting people to join us at our wellbeing retreats. These are days spent together having a massage, doing yoga, learning resilience techniques, and of course with good food and company.
We’re based near to Latimer road/ Ladbroke road tube stations.
We will be running the retreats twice per month a month, these will be full or half day sessions.
We will pay depending on your experience, maximum will be £100 for a one-day retreat
We will provide the massage beds and chair, you may want to bring your own towels / oils
