Rachel has a successful massage practice in Islington and specialises in pregnancy massage. She is also qualified as a baby massage instructor.
Rachel decided to give massage a go after ten years of working in the charity sector hoping to achieve a better work-life balance.
She graduated from the Bodyology massage diploma course eight years ago. Rachel enjoys teaching massage in a way that puts the client at the centre of the treatment.
Rachel, why massage?
I like working with people. The working environment in massage is amazing. I can’t remember anyone complaining!
What profession would you choose if you were not into massage therapy?
Probably still in complementary therapies. I would like to concentrate more around pregnancy.
What is our life’s inspiration?
Pregnancy, early childhood. This period fascinates me.
What’s your life motto?
Let it be…
Advice you can give to students?
Be organised from day one of the diploma course.
What’s your experience of Bodyology?
It’s a lot more than just a massage course. Try to absorb as much as you can during the course. The beauty is the way Bodyology teaches, you keep learning even after the course.
What did you like about Bodyology?
The concept of ‘Never stop learning’. Well, a lot more than this but it’s the one that stands out for me now.
