Katya worked as a nanny for many years, but massage was always something she liked doing as a hobby. Only when she received a massage from a Bodyology graduate did she start thinking about massage as a profession for herself.
“I enrolled to the diploma course in small steps; I signed up for the introduction course, met with the course director, attended the open class and then I felt I was ready to enrol in the diploma course”.
Katya, why massage?
In Russia, it’s a lot more common to receive massages. It was something that felt very natural to me.
What profession would you choose if not massage therapy?
Physiotherapy. I am thinking of studying it after my massage course.
What is your life’s inspiration?
I came to the UK with nothing, and I admire people who build their lives by themselves.
What’s your life motto?
Look after your family and friends. They will look after you when you need it the most.
Advice you can give students?
If I can pass this diploma course, you can do it too.
What’s your experience at Bodyology?
I cannot say thank you enough to the teachers. Besides massage, I have learnt so much about people.
What do you like about Bodyology?
Learning through activity. It feels like playing.
